With the Nike Book 1 ‘What The’, Nike Basketball opens the final chapter of Devin Booker's first signature era. While Booker is already testing the upcoming Book 2, Nike is taking the opportunity for a final retrospective, revisiting the legendary ‘What The’ concept that originated in the Nike SB cosmos and later achieved cult status, particularly through Kobe models. The farewell could hardly have been more fitting, as hardly any other signature shoe in recent years has produced as many different colourways and player exclusives as the Book 1.

The design is deliberately chaotic and thrives on the mismatch principle. The left and right shoes differ significantly from each other and reference numerous previous releases. Recognisable elements include safari prints, denim panels, reptile textures, topographical graphics and bold colour accents from colourways such as ‘Blue Blood’, ‘Sedona’, ‘Moss Point’, “Sunset” and ‘Aurora’. The whole thing is rounded off by a multicoloured outsole with a colour gradient, which once again alludes to previous Book 1 themes.

The Nike Book 1 ‘What The’ will be released on Friday, 19 December 2025, at a price of €170.
