Nike Basketball continues Kobe's legacy and brings back the Kobe 9 EM Low Protro in a fresh “Thunder Blue” colorway. The color palette of Thunder Blue, Laser Orange, Football Grey, and Daybreak subtly references the Lakers DNA without being too flashy.

The engineered mesh upper features a gradient from purple in the toe area to deep navy at the heel. Laser orange accents highlight the Swoosh, eyelets, Flywire fibers, and Kobe Sheath logo on the tongue. The characteristic nine lines on the heel – a tribute to Kobe's legendary Achilles play – also pick up on the accent tone. A structured heel counter provides stability, while the breathable mesh offers lightweight support.

Technically, the model has been modernized as part of the Protro update: instead of Lunarlon, a full-length React drop-in midsole is now used, providing more comfort, better energy return, and contemporary performance. The low-profile setup remains ideal for fast guards and precise cuts.
