With the Nike Mind 001 “Mineral Slate”, Nike continues to break new ground and deliberately moves away from classic sneaker concepts. Instead of performance or retro, the focus here is on a completely different theme: recovery, mindfulness and a new wearing experience.

At the heart of the design are the 22 foam nodes in the sole. These press gently against the foot with every step, creating a kind of massage effect. The aim is to make you walk more mindfully and convey a “grounded” feeling – an approach Nike has developed over the years.

Visually, the trainer remains futuristic and almost experimental. The sculptural shape, the slightly crumpled upper and the perforated details are somewhat reminiscent of concept designs – it’s no coincidence that the look is often compared to a “Cybertruck for the feet”.

The “Mineral Slate” colourway brings a calmer side to the fore. Muted green and grey tones dominate the upper, whilst orange details on the sole provide contrast. Overall, the shoe looks significantly cleaner than earlier versions.

The Mind 001 isn’t a classic everyday trainer, but is intended more for “off-moments” – after sport, to unwind, or simply for maximum comfort in everyday life.
