Since its debut in January 2026, the Mind 001 has been one of Nike's more surprising releases of the year. The laceless mule has sold out repeatedly, and Nike is picking up the pace accordingly: the silhouette keeps getting new colours throughout the year, joined by the Mind 002 as its sneaker counterpart.

The series was developed over several years within the Nike Mind Science Division, a department focused on the connection between brain, nervous system and movement. At its core sit 22 independent foam nodes underfoot that move individually as you walk, creating a kind of micro massage. The shoe is built for the time before and after training rather than for training itself.
