The Nike Shox R4 continues to enjoy a strong revival, evolving ever further from its former life as a performance runner into a fashion sneaker. With the new “Dark Pony” colourway, Nike is now taking things a step further, giving the iconic silhouette a sophisticated, premium look.

Instead of the classic mesh upper, Nike has opted this time for luxurious full-grain leather in a rich brown hue. The high-quality “Dark Pony” finish covers the toe box, side panels, tongue and heel, evoking elegant loafers rather than a typical running shoe from the 2000s.

Contrast is provided by cream-coloured “Soft Pearl” details on the inner lining and a light-coloured midsole in Pure Platinum. The legendary Shox columns are, of course, retained and continue to deliver the distinctive cushioning that made the trainer so futuristic back in the day.

Silver Nike Shox logos on the tongue, tone-on-tone laces and perforated leather panels add a touch of premium flair. Another small highlight is the turquoise-blue insole with a white Swoosh, which adds a fresh touch to the rather muted colourway.
