TLDR: The One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Gomu Gomu” transforms Monkey D. Luffy’s legendary Devil Fruit into a completely reworked Air Max Plus. A textured purple upper is joined by poisonous green accents, exclusive One Piece branding and the silhouette’s familiar Tuned Air sole. Nike is setting sail with One Piece. The collaboration centres around three special interpretations of the Air Max Plus inspired by the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi and Ope Ope no Mi. This “Gomu Gomu” edition represents the Devil Fruit responsible for Monkey D. Luffy’s signature rubber-like abilities.
Rather than applying a simple new colourway, Nike has given the Air Max Plus an upper developed specifically for the collaboration. Swirling textures reference the distinctive surface of the Devil Fruit, whilst Space Purple and Purple Venom form the foundation. Atomic Green, Altitude Green, Light Lemon Twist and Sport Red provide the energetic contrasts.
The familiar Air Max Plus caging is incorporated into the organic design. A contrasting Swoosh, colourful midsole details and a reimagined Jolly Roger emblem on the tongue make the One Piece connection immediately recognisable without simply printing a character across the shoe.
Beneath the expressive upper, the Air Max Plus retains its familiar foundation. Visible Air units and Tuned Air cushioning deliver comfort, whilst the stabilising midfoot section and durable rubber outsole complete the unmistakable TN appearance.
When will the One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Gomu Gomu” be released?
The first release will take place at a Tokyo pop-up from 4 to 6 September 2026. The global One Piece x Nike collection is then scheduled to launch through Nike SNKRS on 25 September 2026.
Where can I buy the One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Gomu Gomu”?
Access to the “Gomu Gomu” will use a special selection process in participating SNKRS regions. Users must respond to a poll in the SNKRS app between 23 August and 18 September. Selected participants are expected to receive a notification and an opportunity to place a pre-order. Germany’s participation and the European retail price have not yet been fully confirmed.
