Following several pale and monochromatic versions, Pharrell Williams and adidas are preparing the Jellyfish for autumn. The “Timber” retains the model’s complex architecture but translates it into a colour palette positioned between workwear, outdoor styling and futuristic design.
Tightly knitted dark Auburn mesh forms the foundation. Tonal overlays extend across the toe, sides and heel, while black hardware and off-white support pieces separate the numerous layers. Bright yellow accents around the forefoot, heel, midsole and external cage cut sharply through the earthy design.
Curved TPU beams sweep from the lacing system towards the heel, recalling the flowing anatomy of a jellyfish. Combined with the exaggerated midsole, they give the trainer its distinctive, almost floating appearance. Reflective details and visible Torsion branding reinforce its technical character.
The design builds on the running heritage of the 2000s adidas Adistar Cushion. Pharrell transforms that foundation through a layered exoskeleton, enlarged proportions and “VIRGINIA” branding, creating an experimental lifestyle trainer. adiPRENE cushioning in the heel preserves part of the original model’s performance character.
