Nike is further strengthening its ties with the running community and, in collaboration with California-based Renegade Running, is launching a special Vaporfly 4. Behind the project is founder Victor Diaz, who, with his stores in Oakland and Los Angeles, has long since created more than just classic running shops – namely genuine community hubs for runners from all walks of life.

The Renegade x Nike Vaporfly 4 features an earthy “Brown Basalt” colourway with bold accents inspired by Mexican desert landscapes. Particularly striking are the orange Renegade details on the medial side, as well as the subtle “Barrios Unidos” message, which translates as “united neighbourhoods” and underscores the community ethos behind the release.

Technically, the Vaporfly 4 remains, of course, an absolute high-end tool for fast runs and competitions. The redesigned Engineered Mesh further reduces weight whilst providing greater stability. Nike combines the responsive ZoomX foam with a full-length carbon flyplate, whose more aggressive angle provides even more propulsion.

The collaboration thus combines modern performance technology with genuine cultural storytelling energy – exactly the kind of release that’s proving particularly successful right now.
