SLAM x Nike Zoom Hyperflight "Starfish"

Nike is bringing the Zoom Hyperflight back into the spotlight together with SLAM. Founded in 1994, the publication shaped an entire generation through its combination of basketball, trainers, music and street culture – the same era that produced Eric Avar’s pioneering basketball silhouette.

Almost the entire upper is covered in glossy “Starfish” orange patent leather. The eye-catching finish recalls the shine of a magazine cover while simultaneously referencing SLAM’s signature colour palette. A small white embroidered Swoosh near the toe creates a sharp contrast.

“Smoke Grey” appears across the tongue, laces and sections of the outsole. Black accents highlight the Hyperflight’s flowing exoskeletal structure, while reflective details around the collar and tongue become visible when exposed to direct light. SLAM branding on the tongue and the magazine’s distinctive “S” logo across the heel complete the collaboration.

Underneath the striking colourway, the retro retains the performance DNA of the original. A lightweight Phylon midsole is combined with responsive Zoom Air cushioning and the characteristic “claw” support system. The result stays true to the model’s basketball roots, even if its glossy construction is likely to attract just as much attention away from the court.

The SLAM x Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Starfish” carries the product code IV6130-800 and comes in an official Starfish/Smoke Grey–Black–White colourway.

Following an initial launch through SLAM on August 15th, the wider release will take place on August 25th, 2026. The trainer is priced at 170€.
