Stray Rats x New Balance 991 Black/Purple

New Balance has seen an immense resurgence in 2021, with many of their silhouettes becoming more sought after throughout the year. The New Balance 991 is clearly one of these silhouettes with its numerous colourways, and in most cases, it gets sold out within minutes. Depending on the colour scheme, some releases are no longer available even after seconds. For this very special New Balance 991, the label has now brought the brand "Stray Rats" on board and created two very unusual sneakers.

As part of the collaboration with the Stray Rats, New Balance has directly released two different colourways, which use the same colour accents but still look quite different. The Stray Rats x New Balance 991 Black/Purple comes in a muted mix of grey and black. Some contrast is provided by single purple elements used on the New Balance logo, as well as the inner lining, among others. "//stray" lettering is also found on the exterior of the sneaker, while co-branding adorns the inner soles.
