The Virgil Abloh Archive x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska” marks the return of one of the most influential sneaker designs of recent years. The reissue remains faithful to the original Off-White x Air Jordan 1, but receives an update that reinterprets Virgil Abloh’s legacy.

The design continues to be based on the well-known “The Ten” aesthetic with a deconstructed look and DIY vibes. The clean all-white colourway delivers the iconic “Alaska” style, whilst signature details such as the zip tie, “AIR” branding on the midsole and “SHOELACES” prints on the laces remain.

The branding elements are new: instead of Off-White, “V.A.A. for Nike” now appears on the upper and the zip tie. The branding has also been updated on the inside, with a stronger focus on classic Nike Air details.

A particular highlight is the packaging: the trainer comes in an elaborate box with cut-outs, an additional insert and a sort of display case. It also comes with a zine titled “MODERNISM IS NOT NEW”, which offers insights into Abloh’s design process.
