Just a few days ago, Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance met once again for the 550 — a retro silhouette that has fallen into the shadows alongside all the other basketball sneakers. But the sneakers have an impressive style that we have to take a closer look at.
The partners have published a total of five colourways, but the red colourway is, in our opinion, the best variant, and the rest of the world seems to agree.
The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 "Red" is a true vintage sneaker for the court, not only because of the colours, but also because of its old-fashioned construction. A yellowed sole matches the cream-coloured leather upper and the side perforations. Adjoining colours include red and black that match the collar, logo, and other distinctive features.
