Those who play for Michael Jordan's former alma mater are blessed with some special Jordan Brand products, and the UNC Tar Heels women's basketball team is the latest University of North Carolina team to be outfitted by MJ with special footwear: a new version of the Air Jordan 1. Most Tar Heel PEs - with the exception of a few models like the Air Jordan 4s and a dark blue version of the Air Jordan 6 - understandably stick to a similar style, mixing the Tar Heels' signature powder blue and white hues. This Air Jordan 1 is no exception, but something makes it exceptional. That "something" is its tremendous resemblance to the OG Air Jordan 1 "UNC", a style that dates back to MJ's rookie year with the Chicago Bulls.

This Air Jordan 1 "UNC" PE is almost identical to the original version. The combination of white leather on the toe cap, tongue and collar and the light blue mudguard, overlays on the forefoot, eyelets, Swooshes, heel and collar flaps is a real highlight. The famous logos, such as the Wings logo on the side collar flap and the Nike Air logo on the left tongue, make this shoe unmistakable. The only distinguishing feature is the UNC symbol on the right tongue. Check here the first pictures of the Air Jordan 1 "UNC" PE.
