Staple x PUMA's 'East West Ivy' collection is inspired by US coastal university style and consists of 60s Asian-American aesthetic elements combined with Staple's streetwear roots in New York City. The collection features classic Varsity-inspired chenille badges and premium materials combined with traditional iconography from Asian cultures.
These include the Varsity jacket as well as the V-Neck Crew, which create a classic Americana look with a letter jacket look. They feature the letters "P" for PUMA and "S" for Staple. The matching hooded sweat jacket, sweatpants and graphic T-shirts are printed with special designs and logos inspired by Asian-American culture. The shoe collection includes the PUMA Suede as well as the Slipstream, with both available in two colour combinations.
Jeff Staple has come up with some details here, including zig-zag eyelets, embossed gold letters and yin-yang symbols on the tongue. A golden PUMA Jumping Cat lettering completes the design. The collection is rounded off with a duffle bag, caps and a cap. From 19 October, the Staple x PUMA "East West Ivy" collection will be available on puma.co.uk, in selected PUMA stores and at selected retailers.
