The Nike Air Max Plus Celebrates 25 Years

Hard to believe, but the Nike Air Max Plus is already celebrating its 25th birthday this year! Designed in 1998 by none other than Sean McDowell, this iconic sneaker features wavy TPU overlays inspired by the gentle sway of palm trees. McDowell came up with the idea for this unique shoe design while on holiday in Florida, which also promises a smooth run thanks to the built-in Tuned Air technology.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nike Air Max Plus, Nike Sportswear will be launching a special edition. This "Anniversary" release features a distinctive gradient design and pattern reminiscent of crumpled paper. The signature yellow from the TN logo is now carried over to the visible Air unit. In addition, a custom shoe box that narrates the shoe's journey adds an extra layer of history to this release. The Nike Air Max Plus "25th Anniversary" will soon be available at select Nike Sportswear retail shops, both in-store and online. Check out the official images here in advance.
