The Nike KD 12 "Aunt Pearl" Honours the Late Aunt Pearl

The special edition of the Nike KD12 "Aunt Pearl" finally has a release date! It wasn't clear before, but Nike had just officially confirmed the sneakers' release for December 26th. And, this one's probably the best part of the latest news: the Nike KD12 "Aunt Pearl" will be released worldwide!
The sneakers are already partly considered an important part of the whole line. Although it's new, the colourway still includes several aspects of the earlier KD Aunt Pearl iterations:
- The pearl effect on the collar comes from the Nike KD4.
- The sock insert is like that of the Nike KD5.
- The heel graphic is from the KD6.
- The belt is reminiscent of the KD7.
- The heel embroidery comes from the KD9.
- The material on tongue, collar, and Swoosh comes from the KD10.
- The outer sole marbling reminds of the KD11.

Such honourable collabs are not seen quite often. Nike and Kevin Durant is releasing a Nike KD 12 created in collaboration with Kay Yow Cancer Fund. With this special sneaker, Kevin Durant honours his late Aunt Pearl.
The Aunt Pearl line has existed for a long time now. The first sneaker was a Nike KD 4 "Aunt Pearl", which dropped back in 2012. The next iteration from the collection is a Nike KD 12 that shows unique features.
The new Nike KD 12 "Aunt Pearl" comes with a material of various shades of pink. The most striking features are the straps, which are designed in the shape of wings. In addition, there are transparent white details with a luminous pearl effect and a white Nike Swoosh shooting over the metatarsus.
A velvety tongue and lining give the sneakers a luxurious touch and angelic feel, while a pink outsole completes the sentimental design.
The release of the Nike KD 12 "Aunt Pearl" is certainly not something to be missed.
Special editions such as this are always welcome. Unfortunately, there is no official release date yet. Some are speculating that the sneakers will be released soon.
