The Oldest Bakery in Seoul Is Honoured with an adidas Superstar

South Korea has been at the centre of attention for footwear release concepts and collabs on several occasions. Now, with adidas, we take another look at the mighty metropolis as the coveted adidas Superstar commemorates Seoul's oldest bakery. 태극당 (pronounced "Taegukdang") has been in operation since 1947, serving the Seoul community with various baked goods such as biscuits, pastries, and other traditional baked goods. Now, the adidas Superstar "Taegukdang" gets an inspired design. At first glance, the white base and black details don't seem flashy, but this simple list of ingredients doesn't indicate the amount of detail behind the design.

On the sides, the pull tabs stand out. The wearer can simply pull these off to reveal the classic stripes. Other details include printed heels with 과자중의 과자, which translates to "biscuits under biscuits", as well as outsoles showcasing the bakery's shop window.
