Why the adidas Forum Low by Melting Sadness Looks Like a DIY Sneaker

We've known about Zhang Quan's Chinese label Melting Sadness since 2020. The artist and adidas first collaborated just before the turn of the year, and now, they are expanding the selection twelve months later. Their new project involves the coveted adidas Forum Low, which now comes in two variants.

For the new design, adidas and Melting Sadness opt for a more patchwork-like construction. Seemingly random textiles are roughly placed on the sides and attached with contrast stitching. They are also made in several shades that create a colourful design.

The metallic details are then added to the retro basketball model. The side stripes of adidas are held in place by silver studs, and Melting Sadness is immortalised on the rear heels, tongue labels, and insoles.

Release Info on the Melting Sadness x adidas Forum Lows

On October 22nd, the two editions of the Melting Sadness x adidas Forum Lows were released in Asia. No date has been given here yet, but supposedly, the sneakers will be released by adidas in just a few weeks.
