Concealed Air Unit on this Nike Air Max 97

The first Nike Air Max 97 was released 25 years ago, and to this day, it's hard to imagine the sneaker game without the silhouette. The design is as avant-garde as it gets, and new colour concepts keep pushing the silhouette forward. This year has already seen a number of new releases, such as a collab with COMME des GARÇONS. But one of the biggest legends in the sneaker game is also set to make a comeback this year — the Nike Air Max 97 OG Silver Bullet is planned for this year.

Now, Nike is once again causing a stir by giving the Air Max 97 some never-before-seen features. The Black and White Air Max 97 has been spotted with the complete Air Max unit covered, and the familiar lacing has been replaced by a so-called "toggle lacing".

Let's start with the material. This brand-new Air Max 97 comes in a mix of different materials such as mesh, suede, and leather. In terms of colour, the shoe comes in a mix of black and white as already mentioned. The midsole comes in a light cream, whereas the icy outsole rounds off the overall design.

The hidden Air unit and toggle lacing are particularly unusual in this release.
