adidas has just unveiled the next step in our journey to end plastic waste. For this, the Herzogenaurach-based brand completely reinterprets the Stan Smith and signals a new era with recycled sneakers. The silhouette uses a Primegreen upper in the new "It's Not Easy Being Green" collection.
The modified upper is made from a range of high-performance recycled materials, and it is also paired with recycled outsoles. The brand with the Three Stripes gets support from Disney with Marvel icon Hulk, Rex from Toy Story, Yoda from Star Wars, Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, WALL-E, Kermit the Frog from the Muppets, Mike Wazowski from Monsters, and Groot.
Each sneaker has its own colourway, most of which is based on the heroes from the animated series. The "It's Not Easy Being Green" branding on the heels reminds us to stay strong and "be green".
