A Special Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet '97 in Honour of Barry Sanders

Barry David Sanders is no stranger to football fans. He was one of the biggest running backs in the NFL. After the 1998 season, Sanders retired from the NFL. To this day, Barry says that the feeling of being one of the best players has not faded at all even after so many years.

One particular pair of sneakers that was very important to the runningback was the Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet '97. Barry Sanders wore the sneakers during his games. Since then, the Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet '97 has earned its rightful place in Nike history.

This new iteration from Nike has 2,053 pairs manufactured: the same number as the most yards Sanders achieved in the 1997 season. The limited edition sneaker also features the Detroit Lions colours as well as the number "20" that belonged to the famous Barry Sanders.

Today, on Thanksgiving, there are two NFL games scheduled. One of them will be played by the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears at 6:30 p.m. Barry Sanders will act as the "Honorary Governor" in the said game and present his ever-popular sneaker for one last time.

Through this iteration, Nike honours Barry Sanders with the stylish silhouette of the Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet '97. Just yesterday, 250 pairs were released at the Detroit Lions Store. The rest of the sneakers will drop today at exactly 18:30 on Nike.com. Unfortunately, it is not likely that they will be released here.
