Latest Pickup: Nike Air Force 1 Shadow "Mystic Navy"

It has been a week since the new WMNS line is available online at Nike. And, which line can possibly run better than the Air Force 1 line? This well-loved classic from Beaverton has shaped the sneaker world for many years. On October 3rd, Nike's new line was launched and is now expanding its portfolio with a new silhouette.

By now, almost every true-blue sneakerhead already has a Nike Air Force 1. The timeless shoe can be worn by the ladies as well as the gents and not to mention shine in countless colourways. But, Nike's latest creation is specifically designed for women. The Shadow with the AF1 DNA is inspired by women who see themselves as role models and have the power to change the world.

The classic Air Force 1 does shine in various colours, colourways, and collabs. The Shadow, on the other hand, has its own "light" and is definitely not meant to be in the shade. The new silhouette has twice as many details on the entire upper as well as multi-layered overlays and university red Swooshes. The special highlight of the Shadow is the elevated Air midsole.

In our opinion, the "Mystic Navy" is the best version of the Shadow at the moment. Contrasting colours are combined with each other in order to achieve that amazing colour-blocking look. The base is made of smooth leather done in Echo Pink. The midfoot area is covered with a green leather insert, which perfectly contrasts with The Mystic Navy accents along the mudguard and heel area.

The multi-layered look on this awesome shoe is clearly visible. Just about every single part of it is doubled up. The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow has two eyestays, two tabs on the heel, two mudguards, and two Swooshes, while the pink insoles and tongues also have double branding.

The technical details of an AF1 are often rather small. However, they are the first sneakers to feature Nike Air technology, creating a real wave across the sneaker world. The Shadow also has a lightweight and flexible Air midsole. The "Mystic Navy" does without the usual white and comes in a light red tint. The notched outsole provides optimum grip.

This new Nike sneaker with the slightly higher Air midsole has the same iconic profile as the classic Air Force 1, and even with its proportions played up, it's still instantly recognizable. Because women's sneakers are often smaller, as a man, you should definitely order your pair one size bigger.
