TLDR: The adidas Consortium ZX 8000 ‘JC & MT’ Pack celebrates the legacy of Jacques Chassaing and Markus Thaler – the original designers of the silhouette. Two iconic colourways will be released on 27 January 2026 for €150: a bright ‘Yellow’ (based on a never-before-released sample version) and an inverted ‘Aqua’ design with purple accents. Exclusive pre-release on 17 January at Overkill Berlin. The new adidas Consortium ZX 8000 ‘JC & MT’ pack marks the return of one of adidas' most influential running silhouettes in a special form. The two colourways pay tribute to Jacques Chassaing and Markus Thaler, who were instrumental in the design of the ZX 8000 in 1989.
On the one hand, we can expect a completely yellow colourway – a tribute to the ‘Final A-ZX’ prototype that was never officially released. On the other hand, a revamped version of the legendary “Aqua” look is being released, this time with Blue Glow, Unity Purple and a yellow midsole – a kind of ‘Inverse Aqua’ that immediately catches the eye.
Both models are based on the classic ZX 8000 silhouette but have been modernised – including revamped materials, improved shape and subtle torsion details. Despite minor technical adjustments, the retro charm of the late 80s remains intact.
The pack is released under the adidas Consortium label, which indicates high-quality materials, clean workmanship and collector status.
