TLDR: adidas brings back a classic in a revised form with the TRX Mesh SPZL. The vintage TRX-inspired sneaker from the Spring/Summer 2025 SPZL collection combines the iconic 80s running design with modern materials and an eye-catching ‘Hi-Res Blue’ colourway. Available from 27 March at a price of €120. With the latest SPZL collection, adidas presents an homage to its own archive, reinterpreted for everyday wear. A highlight of the line is undoubtedly the TRX Mesh SPZL, a modern remix of the original TRX Runner from the 80s. The silhouette remains true to its roots, but is enhanced by a reworked upper, new panel constructions and a rich hi-res blue colour with contrasting yellow details.
The retro-inspired colourway is strongly reminiscent of the brand's original running models, but the fresh mesh upper, improved tongue shape and refined sole unit make it look like it was made for the year 2025. The comfortable EVA midsole and grippy rubber outsole ensure optimum comfort.
The rest of the SPZL line-up, curated by Gary Aspden, is also impressive: In addition to the TRX, there is also the Handball Cup SPZL and the A. Aspden SPZL - a tribute to the designer's father.
