In 2026, Jordan Brand is bringing back a true early 2000s favourite: the Air Jordan 9 ‘Flint Grey’, also known as ‘French Blue’. Since its original release in 2002, this colourway has never been reissued – making the anticipation for its comeback all the greater.

Visually, the retro stays close to the OG. The upper is made of clean white leather, combined with sleek ‘Flint Grey’ overlays on the mudguard and along the midsole. The slightly shiny surfaces give the model a high-quality look without distracting from the classic AJ9 shape.

The eponymous ‘French Blue’ accents add targeted highlights: on the eyelets, tongue branding, heel and Jumpman logo. A white tongue, grey inner lining and the typical outsole with globally inspired graphics round off the design. Overall, the sneaker remains very faithful to its 2002 version.

Exciting: although 2026 will see many releases with nostalgic packaging and retro details, the ‘Flint Grey’ apparently does without the face box and special retro cards of the time. The focus here is clearly on the silhouette itself.
