TLDR: The Arts-Rec x Nike SB Air Trainer 1 will be released on 22 July 2025 for €140. A wild mix of animal prints, rustic colours and skate vibes, released alongside the Arts-Rec Dunk Low. With this collaboration, Nike SB celebrates the comeback of the Air Trainer 1, refined by the style of San Diego skate shop Arts-Rec: After a five-year hiatus, the Trainer gets an eye-catching makeover inspired by safari prints, Californian skate culture and the creative scene surrounding the shop.
The upper is made of red and burgundy leather, combined with pony hair elements and embossed animal overlays in a cheetah look. The midfoot strap in black suede features the lettering ‘arts’ and ‘rec’ on each shoe instead of the Nike branding. A special detail is the fluffy Swoosh in Pink Quartz, which contrasts with the earthy look.
Slogans such as ‘Please Do Not Tap on Glass’ on the tongue and graphically designed insoles add a typical dose of humour. Despite the wild design, the focus remains on performance: the classic trainer cut with strap and robust construction makes the shoe suitable for skating, just like in the SB era of the mid-2000s.
The collaboration is part of a mini pack, alongside the Arts-Rec SB Dunk Low, which offers a similarly wild mix of textures and colours. Both models are visually coordinated and bear the shop's signature style.
