TLDR: On 5 October 2025, the new Mercedes-AMG x adidas Consortium collection will be released, featuring the ZX 8500, Megaride GT and adiStar Control 5 models, which are inspired by 1990s motorsport. The partnership between adidas and Mercedes-AMG is entering its next phase – this time with a stylistically diverse trio of collections. The focus is on three different models, each of which takes up a different facet of adidas' design history and merges it with automotive aesthetics. The basis of the collection is the ZX 8500, a hybrid of the ZX 8000 and ZX 9000, which made its debut at OVERKILL in 2021. Now it returns in two variants: a striking black and red version with racing vibes and a grey version suitable for everyday wear.
Alongside it is the Megaride GT, a more futuristic model that has its roots in current adidas technology. Its multi-part outsole with six separate pod elements is reminiscent of the Predator Megaride from the performance line. A shiny silver upper, red details and Y2K design lines create a striking retro-futuristic look.
The collection is rounded off by the adiStar Control 5, which retains its functional cushioning but has undergone significant visual development. Instead of the performance look, it features a curved mesh upper with layering effects.
When will the Mercedes-AMG x adidas Consortium collection be released?
The collection will be released on Saturday, 5 October 2025, coinciding with the second half of the Formula 1 season. It accompanies Mercedes' lifestyle commitment away from the racetrack.
How much do the models in the collection cost?
The trainers cost between €130 and €200. They are available at adidas.com and from selected Consortium retailers. Anyone who likes sport-inspired designs with a modern twist should make a note of this release.
