TLDR: The New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex ‘Protection Pack’ returns with three new colourways in grey, black and wheat – featuring GORE-TEX®, ABZORB cushioning and the iconic jagged look. All three colourways are available online now and cost £200 each. As always, more information is available at Grailify. Following the successful comeback of the OG versions, New Balance is launching three new variants of the 2002R ‘Protection Pack’ with GORE-TEX® in early 2026. The models in grey, black and wheat feature a monochrome look with a weatherproof upper and classic 2002R elements. The jagged overlay design that has characterised the series since its introduction remains particularly striking.
Technically, everything remains the same: ABZORB and N-ergy cushioning ensure maximum comfort and impact protection, while the Stability Web supports the arch of the foot. The waterproof and windproof GORE-TEX® material keeps feet dry in all weather conditions – without compromising on breathability.
The grey colourway stays close to the OG look, complemented by subtle colour accents in light blue, dark grey and beige on the sole. The black version features a ‘triple black’ aesthetic with a functional vibe, while the wheat version scores with an autumnal colour palette – ideal for the cold season.
