With the LeBron 23 “Hardwood Classics”, Nike is making a former player-exclusive colourway available to the general public for the first time. The design is inspired by the blue and orange throwback jerseys of the Cleveland Cavaliers from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The asymmetrical design is particularly striking. The left shoe combines a blue upper with an orange outsole, whilst the right sneaker reverses the colour scheme. Silver-white elements run across the toe box and the crown-shaped stability construction on the sides and at the heel.

This colourway has a long history in LeBron’s signature line. The first similar Cavaliers-inspired styles appeared on the LeBron 4, whilst the LeBron 7 “Hardwood Classics” from 2009 in particular remains a fan favourite to this day. In keeping with this theme, the new LeBron 23 is even set to be released in packaging inspired by the LeBron 7 box.
