Nike is sending a strong message with the LeBron 23 ‘Honor The King’: the Hyper Jade colour scheme is based on the iconic turquoise of the doors of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis – the place where Dr Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968. Today, the building is part of the National Civil Rights Museum, which LeBron supported in 2016 with a donation of $2.5 million, including for a Muhammad Ali exhibition.

The sneaker combines an all-over teal look with gold details such as the Swoosh, tongue branding and crown motif. A particularly striking detail is the word ‘EQUALITY’ emblazoned on the heel, making the silhouette's political message unmistakable. Added to this is a finely patterned upper for extra texture – minimalist, but with great significance. 

The sneaker will be released on Saturday, 24 February 2026, at a price of €200. GS sizes cost €160.
