On places particular emphasis on sustainable materials: 50 per cent of the midsole is made from organically sourced materials such as recycled cooking oil, resulting in 20 per cent less CO₂ emissions than conventional EVA midsoles. In addition, On uses the Dope-Dye dyeing process for eight out of twelve colour combinations, which requires up to 90 percent less water. A revised heel design provides more support and balance, while the slip-on design makes it easier to put on.
