ASICS and Dutch design studio STUDIO HAGEL are continuing their collaboration and presenting a completely new silhouette with the NEOTIDE. The model builds on the concept of the previous NEOCURVE project and once again focuses on sustainable design.
The sneaker is made from recycled, damaged and unsold ASICS products collected throughout Europe. These materials are broken down by recycling specialist Fast Feet Grinded and then reassembled into a new construction. The result is a runner with a deliberately rough, handcrafted character.
Visually, the NEOTIDE is based on classic hiking silhouettes. The upper combines breathable mesh with nubuck overlays to create a robust, textured surface. Eye-catching ‘NEOTIDE’ embroidery adds extra accents, while two-tone rope laces emphasise the outdoor look.
Underfoot, a distinctive wave-shaped midsole creates a futuristic look. Added to this is a heavily profiled outsole designed for good grip and stability. Overall, the sneaker looks like a mixture of a trail shoe, tech runner and experimental design project.
Two colourways will be released at launch: ‘Sweet Pink’ with lighter grey and brown tones and ‘Brown Storm’ with earthy tones and pink accents.
