Nike and Ja Morant have repeatedly shown their willingness to bring pop-culture themes to performance footwear. The Ja 4 “Jaws” takes inspiration from the celebrated film without forming an officially licensed partnership. Its clearest reference appears on the tongue, where a row of white shark teeth closes around Ja Morant’s triangular logo.
The upper shifts from deep navy into lighter shades of blue, recalling both the rough skin of a shark and the changing colours of open water. Shimmering dark-blue Swooshes and a glossy JA-Frame reinforce the wet, almost metallic appearance. Ja Morant’s logo introduces a small but striking hit of University Red.
Beneath the themed exterior sits a modern performance construction. The Cushlon 3.0 midsole delivers responsive cushioning, while the lightweight SPRPWR sockliner provides additional comfort during take-offs and landings. A TPU JA-Frame secures the midfoot during sharp changes of direction. Underfoot, a durable rubber outsole uses a traction pattern inspired by Ja’s logo to support quick and explosive movement on the court.
