Did Hiroshi Fujiwara Also Have a The Ten Collection?
The outstanding Off-White x Nike "The Ten" collection was released over two years ago and attracted sneakerheads in droves back then. Visionary Virgil Abloh spent a whole 18 months designing and deconstructing exaggerated and broken down sneakers with Nike and brought them to the market. But apparently, the creative genius was not the only partner who was allowed to design his own sneakers.
fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara probably also had the task to design his own The Ten collection. On his Instagram account, the designer shows a sample of an Air Max 1, which was created in 2016. Why Fujiwara is uploading these images now is not clear yet.
The silhouette remains essentially untouched and only updates the lacing system. The wide setup goes into the mudguard and reminds us of the Dunk by Abloh, which was released a few months ago. In addition, the Swoosh on each side panel has been significantly reduced in size, while the technical description by fragment design sits underneath.
The strong energy of Off-White was probably the decisive point for Nike's choice of silhouettes. If the other iterations of fragment design had a similar aesthetic, we would definitely like to include the sneakers in our range.
