Jordan Brand's Air Jordan 1 is Inspired by Milan
Nike has released the official release date of the Air Jordan 1 Mid "Milan". The pre-release date for the new mid iteration is February 19th at One Block Down in Milan. The worldwide release will then follow on February 22nd.
Jordan Brand and Italy have been linked together since 1986. At that time, it was the Air Jordan 2 that aroused the interest of fine Italian craftsmanship. Now, the Air Jordan 1 Mid deepens the interest and shows Italian architecture with light pastel shades.
Insiders believe that they have finally found out the final release date of the Air Jordan 1 Mid "Milan". If the leaks are really true, whether it's possibly a US exclusive or a worldwide release, nobody can say. But, if they are right, the latest iteration will be released on February 21st.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Milan" is made for an instant sold-out. Italy probably has a special place in Michael Jordan's heart. The luxurious and noble version is inspired by one of the most famous cities in the world. Fine and subtle details are combined with a unique upper. The overall result is reminiscent of the incredible architecture of Milan, such as the Milan Cathedral.

Many sneakerheads don't know this, but some Jordans are actually inspired by a particular country. The Jumpman often goes to Italy and gets some inspiration from the Italian way of life. The Air Jordan 14, for example, follows the shape of a Ferrari, while the actual inspiration comes from the shattered backboard directly from Trieste, Italy, where MJ delivered the slam dunk of his life in 1985.
And, apparently, the Italian style is now moving a lot closer to the foreground. Jordan Brand is in fact inspired by Milan and introduces a new Air Jordan 1 Mid, which could very well come directly from the megacity.
The new iteration combines suede, leather, and linen that come in a bone-white hue reminiscent of Milan's architecture. Each piece changes colour, while a structured mudguard rounds off the elements of the design.
Last but not least, an "MLN" hangtag on the right sneaker points to inspiration from Italy.
