Kyrie Irving and Nike Reportedly Let Current Contract Expire

Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN have reported moments ago that Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets is dropping his latest Nike signature sneaker this fall. It is also believed that the sneaker will be his last model. According to rumours, Nike and the All-Star guard will let the current partnership contract expire at the end of the 2022-23 NBA season.

According to the TV station, Nike Kyrie products will still be released after the contract expires next year. This includes retro models of the NBA basketball player from years past.

"We do not comment on contracts, rumours, or speculation. Kyrie remains a Nike athlete," a Nike spokesperson told ESPN.

Kyrie Irving has been with Nike and under contract since 2014. At that point, Irving had released eight signature sneakers with the Beaverton-based sporting goods company. However, the relationship between the two partners was already under threat when the athlete publicly called the Kyrie Infinity "trash" in June 2021.

Nike has not yet confirmed the rumours about Kyrie's future with the brand, but you'll find out here when the updates are online.
