Slam Jam Redefines the Nike Dunk High

Update 21.10.2020

Nike and Slam Jam will be publishing the second part of their collaboration in just a few days. On October 30th, the Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High "Clear Black" will drop at Nike, and the details will be as brilliant as the previous one.

The second version is a dark rendition, while the base remains clean. Over the base are black overlays, while black and white laces further enhance the high-contrast look. The missing perforations on the toe box and the new Swooshes with extended heel tabs are some of the great details. The Nike branding on the tongues has also been turned upside down.

Update 02.10.2020

Italian label Slam Jam is releasing two new Dunk Highs with Nike. These include a white and a black/white option. But don't be fooled by the simple colour schemes because the highlights of the limited edition sneakers are in the details, and we want to show them to you right here.

Both sneakers are made of fine leather and suede and will stand out on the streets because of their crazy details. The Swooshes, for example, are not made of leather, which we are actually used to in a classic Dunk, but of a rubber-like material.

Add to this are the strange perforations. On the toe box and under the Swoosh, the small holes are lined up and offer a completely new look that we are not familiar with from the Dunk.

Even more interesting are the classic logos of Nike, which Slam Jam has worked on properly. The side Swooshes are located underneath the overlays, and the tongue tags have simply been turned upside down. Slam Jam reminds us of the Nike Blazer "Class 1977" from 2019.

For Slam Jam founder Luca Benini, the Nike Dunk naturally fits the Slam Jam aesthetic. "I remember that one of my first contacts with the Dunk came about thanks to the Air Jordan 1 when they came out in 1985. Then, I discovered their inspiring role," says Benini.

Don't Miss the Release of Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High "Light Gray" and "Black

The Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High "Light Gray" drops instore on October 3rd exclusively at Slam Jam and via raffle on slamjam.com as well as on SNKRS. The "Black" will be released on October 30th at selected retailers worldwide.
