The Basement x Nike—For the Community from the Community

So far, we know of only two versions of the Nike Air Max 90 that are included in the recent collab of The Basement x Nike. Via Instagram, Alex Rope of The Basement shows a third model that is a strong addition to the collaboration. This new version complements his other two pairs with a black upper, volt details and a jeweled Swoosh. The mudguard and the tongue also feature reflective accents that make the shoe so lit!

The fabric from the black The Basement x Nike Air Max 90 comes from CORDURA and is a durable polyamide fabric. Unfortunately, there is no official release date yet. Stay tuned and don't miss the official pictures of this black iteration.

Official pictures of a second The Basement x Nike Air Max 90 have just been released. The colourway of this second version is no doubt eye-catching with its unique colours and details. The tongue is completely orange and reminds you of those pylons that you normally see at construction sites. The entire look is rounded off with a reflective Swoosh that is probably not interchangeable but fixed. 

The insole is adorned with printed cones making them pop out against the grey colourway along with the slogan, "REAL PEOPLE DO REAL THINGS". Be sure to check out the official Nike pictures. Which pair would you like to cop?

London-based Facebook group The Basement has recently announced a new collab on Instagram. Since 2017, The Basement has earned its rep as an influential part of the community. At that time, the Londoners released a Dunk Low with Nike, which was equipped with nine different materials. This new iteration should be just as unique. And, the highlight of these shoes? Interchangeable Swooshes!

Okay, we know what you’re thinking. Admittedly, we already know of these removable Swooshes from the Nike Air Force 1s. Nevertheless, it is still such an interesting feature, which the two brands decided to include in the Nike Air Max 90. On the Instagram post we see a black version with the rest of it darkened and unrecognizable. The "Grey Fog" version comes with smooth leather and suede materials. Other details like a ripstop pattern above the Air Max logo as well as grey patches on the heels and tongue also adorn the sneakers.

But, the real accents here that complete the overall look are no doubt the interchangeable Swooshes! To top that, Nike adds a little something extra. You can choose between a black, white, diamond blue, or orange Swoosh. In addition, lace tips show the words, “REAL" and “PEOPLE”, with the E swapped for the signature E that’s part of the brand’s logo. The entire look is rounded off with the transparent outsole bearing the slogan, "REAL PEOPLE DO REAL THINGS”.

Unfortunately, there is no release date yet. Rumour has it that three versions will be released. We bet that everyone’s already on the edge of their seats for those!
