adidas Releases the Dame 6
Damian Lillard plays at the top of the NBA league. The 29-year-old point guard of the Portland Trail Blazers once led the Weber State Wildcats to win the Regular Season of the Big Sky Conference. Today, adidas introduces the latest signature sneaker by Damian Lillard—the adidas Dame 6.
The sneakers are characterized by a cross-linked material above the upper and a premium lacing system, which ensure both an optimal fit and reliable support, particularly on the lateral portion. At the same time, the Dame 6 comes with a Lightstrike midsole, which appears in Dame's line for the first time. This makes the sneakers particularly responsive and its cushioning improved by taking on a much lighter weight.
The powerful heel with rounded edges increases freedom of movement in all directions, while the new translucent outsole and traction pattern provide a solid grip.
"Right from the start of the design process, our discussions with Dame revealed the many sides of Dame's personality—he's a leader, a family man, a businessman and more, but when he comes to the court, another side comes out," explained Jimi Taylor, Senior Footwear Designer for adidas Basketball. "The silhouette embodies Dame's multidimensional personality from both sides of the shoe. The exterior speaks for Dame's focus, while the interior peels off the layers to demonstrate the inside of the shoe and celebrate Dame's ruthless attitude on the court."
adidas is immediately announcing a number of new colourways to be launched in the near future. For now, the adidas Dame 6 "Ruthless" is the first sneaker to celebrate Damian Lillard's tenacity on the pitch. The adidas Dame 6 "Hecklers" is expected to arrive at the beginning of 2020.
