Originally released in late 1999, the shoe features a bold and fresh look with an extravagant graphic print over the mesh upper. The flowing upper sits on top of the full length Air tooling that was originally developed for the Air Max 97.

The Nike Air Max Deluxe is a model from the Nike archive that all but you most dedicated sneakerheads, of course, have either forgotten about or didn't even know existed. But with the current popularity of the Air Max 97, as well as the chunky aesthetic of the late 90s, it seems that Nike couldn't have found a better time to boldly bring the good old Air Max Deluxe back to the forefront.

Nike's Air Max Deluxe returns in its original look, with a combination of blue, white and black, highlighted by bright orange and a nice shimmer on the midsole. There are also trendy silver details all over the shoe, which are even reflective.

The Air-Sole technology was probably the most important thing to catapult Nike to the top of the sneaker game around the world. Since its introduction in the late 70's, the signature Nike Air Max bubble has been moulded into almost every sneaker shape imaginable, and has continued unabated in the production of various models ever since. Whether encased or visible, the Air-Sole proved worthy of every new sneaker it was bestowed upon. The Air Max story was a successful one, and from then on it was evident in the increasingly rapid releases.

A few years after the introduction of the AM 97, a special sneaker emerged that was encased in neoprene uppers. Nike had branded the new funky sneaker as the Nike Air Max Deluxe. Difficult birth, but the Nike Air Max Deluxe had finally seen the light of day almost two decades ago.

Although the Nike Air Max Deluxe did not prove promising in its early years, it was revived thanks to the tireless support of its underground Air Max loyalists and a collaboration with rapper Skepta. The Nike Air Max Deluxe revolutionised the graphic designs of the OG in the same neoprene setup.

As mentioned earlier, Skepta had teamed up with Nike to produce the second instalment since his first collaboration with the global brand. The Skepta x Nike Air Max Deluxe features a patterned upper that nods to his award-winning music video "That's Not Me". The nice kicks are really on the rise again!

When you think of the Nike Air Max Deluxe, the first thing that comes to mind is the iconic "Photo Blue" colourway. It features an eye-catching wavy upper in black and dark blue. The bottom of the sneaker is rounded off by an orange sole.

 

The Nike Air Max Deluxe "Triple Black" is just as popular. Here, the entire upper is black, which makes for a timeless and versatile look. Simply any outfit can be complemented with this style.

 

The counterpart to the dark style is the Nike Air Max Deluxe "White Platinum". It looks very clean with its light upper material and colourless sole. A classic that no shoe wardrobe should be without.
