First Look: Comme des Garçons x Nike Dunk Low

Update 12.05.2020

We saw the first pictures of the two COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Dunk Lows during Paris Fashion Week, but they are now over half a year old. After the long break, we now have the latest news and even a release date happening very soon.

The sneakers look really strong and indeed they are. The individual designs can be recognized by their unique upper. The shoes are made of Nexkin, an light and innovative stretch fabric. The material adapts to the foot and is breathable. However, the two styles differ significantly from each other. One edition is rather reserved, while the second edition shows a COMME des GARÇONS monogram print.

Both versions will be released on May 14th at the CDG and Dover Street Market stores and the DSM online shop in women's and men's sizes, before arriving at selected retailers.

A few weeks ago, the first rumours about a possible collab between Comme des Garçons and Nike came out. It was said that the two brands were releasing a new Nike Dunk Low. The first Comme des Garçons x Nike Dunk Low shoe was introduced at Paris Fashion Week. And, it appeared as if Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market founder Rei Kawakubo were in fact releasing the Dunk Low with two different uppers.

The first pair, in our opinion, is the better version with a black base and a transparent TPE overlay. Underneath the overlay, you can see several prints of the white "cdg" lettering. Black laces and a black leather insert on the heel complete the extraordinary design.

The second pair is rather clean and minimalist in design. The "cdg" lettering is omitted in this second version, while the base comes in white and the Swoosh, laces, and heel inserts are done in black. Both pairs have a black foam midsole for added comfort.

Will the Comme des Garçons x Nike Dunk Lows come out in 2020?

Unfortunately, the two brands have not released an official release date yet. The sneakers will probably drop sometime in spring 2020. Don't miss the next news and get the Grailify app. There, you are always up to date by getting all the information directly on your smartphone.
