"Skechers respects the intellectual property rights of others, but our much larger competitor continues to use its enormous resources to suppress competition in the courtroom instead of competing in the marketplace."

We can hardly believe we're hearing this about our favourite brand, Nike. Over at Skechers, the air might run out really soon, and quite literally at that! Apparently, Nike is suing California-based brand Skechers for copying some of their very own Air Max models.
As you may hav notice, the models Skech-Air 92, Skech-Air Stratus, Skech-Air Atlas, and Skech-Air Blast are strongly reminiscent of the patented VaporMax and Air Max 270. According to Nike, these are clear infringements of their own designs. In addition, sporting goods manufacturer Nike believes that Skechers may have developed the strategy to copy the said designs from competitors, with the idea even coming from Skechers CEO himself, Robert Greenberg.
"Nike filed this lawsuit to further defend its design innovation and prevent Skechers from relying on Nike's significant investment in talent and resources to innovate," Nike's lawsuit states.
A few years ago, Nike already sued Skechers for a simiilar case. Skechers was said to have copied the Nike Free and Flyknit designs.
