Chase Shiel and Ryustyler Release Custom Nike Air Max 1
This is just absolute insanity! More and more sneaker customizers are getting really good at sneaking in their own designs to tweak the already popular shoes of famous designers from the biggest brands. The photographer Ryustyler and customizer Chase Shiel proved this to be true with the "Wagashi". Recently, the two partners just edited an Air Jordan 1 and released it in "Matcha" style.
The latest version by the two artists is inspired by the well-loved Japanese dessert. The Japanese traditionally eat wagashi with matcha tea, as the latter has a usually bitter taste and pairing it with candy strikes the perfect balance. According to the locals, choosing the perfect wagashi that fits the season plays such an important role in entertaining guests as it reflects the host's level of education.
The Nike Air Max 1 is just as elaborate as these handmade sweets. The fine nubuck and pigskin leather come directly from Japan and come in several colours. A luxurious Swoosh with a Chrysanthemum flower print is featured right on the logo, providing the perfect homage to wagashi design, while a leather insole provides optimal comfort.
The whole package comes in a wooden gift box and a shoe box made of hand-woven Japanese fabric. It also includes six different laces that are slightly transparent to match your current mood.
Sip your favourite tea while wearing your very own AM1 "Wagashi"!
The sneakers will be released on October 20th on chaseshiel.com and will have a limited number of pairs only. Be quick enough to catch a pair if you want to cop one yourself. Don't miss the next news and get the Grailify app. We will always keep you up to date.
