Over 1,000 Archived adidas SPEZIAL Sneakers are Exhibited at the British Textile Biennial

October is going to be one crazy month for all you sneakerheads! Coming soon is an adidas SPEZIAL exhibit with over 1,000 curated sneakers. The said event will take place for the first time at the British Textile Biennial in Blackburn. adidas SPEZIAL designer and brand consultant Gary Aspden, as well as his other colleagues, will be in charge of the exhibit. Three Stripes fans will get a glimpse of the vintage sneakers from the adidas City Series as well as the complete collection of the adidas SPEZIAL line.

The adidas City Series sneakers line is deemed to be adidas' stepping-stone to its undeniably iconic status. The range has been in production since the late 1970s and is responsible for leading adidas to become the global brand that we know today. adidas couldn't choose a better location than Blackburn. In the ‘80s alone, adidas SPEZIAL used to be a widespread phenomena in Blackburn. Athletes and residents would adorn themselves with shoes and apparel from the Three Stripes brand. In just a short span of time, adidas SPEZIAL became more and more prominent in the fashion scene as the sneakers earned its rightful cult following.

 "I grew up in Darwen and spent most of my education in Blackburn. The experiences of my upbringing and youth have always been a source of inspiration for the adidas SPECIAL product line that I design and curate. The creative team working on SPECIAL comes from the region, so it seemed perfect to get involved with the British Textile Biennale and support Nightsafe,” says Gary Aspden.

As many of you know, Nightsafe is a local charity in Blackburn that supports homeless youth aged 16 to 24. Check out this awesome exhibit of over 1,000 adidas SPEZIAL sneakers in Blackburn!
