It's a new chapter of working with the Bryant family to inspire fans around the world. Kobe's legacy is huge, and to make a cut at this point is a cruel blow to many fans.
"Kobe Bryant means so much to so many of us, not just NBA fans, but beyond the game worldwide," said John Donahoe, President and CEO of NIKE, Inc. "His impact on the evolution of sport, especially encouraging women and young people to take up the sport, is one of his greatest and most lasting legacies. Together with Vanessa, we hope to honour Kobe and Gigi by nurturing a new generation for many years to come."

The first piece from the new partnership honours Gigi Bryant. It is the Nike Kobe 6 Protro "Mambacita Sweet 16", which was first spotted in 2021. All proceeds from the shoe will benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. The release information will be announced at a later date.
In addition, Nike and Vanessa Bryant will establish a youth basketball centre in Southern California, as well as outfit NBA and WNBA athletes who carry the Mamba legacy.
