A new book from Nike? Just a month ago, Nike published the book "Nike: Better is Temporary", and now, another new encyclopaedia is being published. This time, however, the book focuses on "The Ten" project between Off-White and Nike — a collab that people are still talking about today.
Virgil Abloh is an icon and his masterpieces are highly sought after. Published by TASCHEN, ICONS reveals Abloh's creative process behind his coveted "The Ten" collection through previously unpublished images of various sneaker prototypes, original text messages from Abloh to Nike designers, treasures from the Nike archives, and more.
You'll also get exclusive insights on texts by Virgil Abloh, fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara, writer Troy Patterson, and curator and historian Glenn Adamson, each sharing their perspective within fashion and design history.
"The ICONS book is, in a way, the only insightful lens to understand that the catalogue of over 50 Nike shoes I've designed is, in my mind, 'a shoe'. A story," says Virgil Abloh.
ICONS drops on January 22nd via SNKRS and on Off-White's and Canary Yellow's websites. A wider release will follow on February 5th via TASCHEN.com and selected retailers.
Also, ahead of the release on January 15th, Virgil Abloh will be speaking with host Shaniqwa Jarvis at a live event on SNKRS with the book's authors Adamson and Zak Kyes.
