Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sneaker Releases
Superstar sneakers bring Splinter and Shredder to the streets of New York
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or TMNT for short, are a group of fictional mutant turtles made famous by comics, animated series and films. The characters Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael fight evil from their lair in the sewers of New York, trained by their rat sensei Splinter. Their popularity spans several decades and has made them an integral part of pop culture.
In March 2024, this popularity took on a new form when Adidas collaborated with TMNT to release a range of sneakers tailored specifically for fans of the series. The result is three unique versions of the Adidas Superstar.
The first model, the "Splinter", was characterised by subtle earth tones reminiscent of the wisdom and tranquillity of the Sensei. The second model, inspired by Shredder, the archenemy of the Turtles, had darker, metallic accents that reflected Shredder's evil aura. The third model, "Shelltoe", celebrated the iconic design of the Adidas Superstar in combination with the Turtles' familiar green colour and a turtle shell structure on the toe.
