Concepts Sneaker Releases

Concepts, also known as CNCPTS, is an influential streetwear and sneaker boutique based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since its founding in 1996, Concepts has made a name for itself by fusing fashion, art and culture and providing a platform for innovative designs and exclusive collaborations. With a strong presence in the sneaker community, Concepts is known for its trendsetting collections and limited editions that attract collectors and fashion enthusiasts alike.

One of Concepts' best-known collaborations is with Nike, in particular the Lobster series. This collaboration began in 2008 with the release of the Nike SB Dunk Low "Red Lobster". Inspired by the vibrant seafood culture of New England, the sneaker perfectly captures the essence of the region. The design features a bright red upper with black and white accents and a chequered lining reminiscent of a traditional tablecloth in a seafood restaurant. A special highlight is the elasticated band on the toe cap, which is reminiscent of lobster claws.

The success of the "Red Lobster" led to the continuation of the series with further colour variants, including the "Blue Lobster" in 2009, the "Yellow Lobster" (Friends & Family Edition) and the "Green Lobster" in 2018. Each new edition brought unique design elements and limited editions that further increased the demand and cult status of the sneakers. In 2021, Concepts and Nike expanded their Lobster series with the "Purple Lobster", another coveted collector's item.
